Terms and Conditions

Please read the full Terms and Conditions as below.

1. Definitions

1.1 "You" refers to the individual undertaking the driving course or driving lessons.

1.2 "We" refers to MK Driving Lessons

1.3 "Instructor" refers to the approved driving instructor assigned to provide your lessons.

1.4 "DVSA" stands for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.

2. Your Obligations

You must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and present it to your driving instructor at your first lesson, and to the DVSA examiner on your driving test date.

2.1 If you hold the old-style paper licence, you must also present a valid passport to your driving instructor at your first lesson and to the DVSA examiner on your driving test date.

2.2 You must be able to pass an eyesight test at 20.5 metres (67 feet).

2.3 You must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at any time during the course. If there are any signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs, the driving session will be suspended immediately. In such cases, no refund will be given for the session, the remainder of the course will be terminated, and all fees paid will be forfeited.

2.4 You must demonstrate a good attitude towards learning, follow instructions, and listen attentively. Behaviour that compromises safety or places the instructor or other road users at risk will result in immediate suspension of the driving session. No refund will be provided for the session, the remainder of the course will be terminated, and all fees paid will be forfeited.

2.5 All pupils must arrive within a 10-minute grace period of the agreed lesson time. This grace period is included in the total lesson time.

2.6 Any cancellations or changes to the scheduled lesson time must be agreed upon with the driving instructor, with a minimum of 48 hours' notice required.

3. Intensive Course

3.1 Pupils wishing to undertake an intensive course will be assessed to determine the estimated number of required training hours. This assessment provides an estimate only. If, in the instructor's opinion, the pupil does not demonstrate sufficient progress by the end of the course, further training—charged at the standard hourly rate—will be required before taking the driving test.

3.2 If a pupil is assessed as unsuitable for the demands of an intensive course (e.g., due to difficulty handling long sessions), the instructor will advise them to consider alternative available course options.

3.3 If a pupil refuses the assessment lesson and is later found not to have reached the required standard for the driving test, the instructor reserves the right to refuse to accompany the pupil to the test.

3.4 The intensive course fee does not include the driving test fee.

3.5 Upon request, we will book the earliest possible driving test date through the DVSA; however, we cannot guarantee a specific date.

3.6 Weekend driving test appointments may be booked through the DVSA, but these will incur a higher fee.

4. Payments

4.1 Pay-as-you-go lessons must be paid before 48 hours in advance.

4.2 Pupils interested in block bookings or an intensive course must first pay for a 2-hours assessment lesson in advance. After this session, you will have the option to continue with either a block booking or pay-as-you-go lessons.

4.3 Once you decide to proceed with a block booking or an intensive course, full payment must be made in advance.

4.4 If your driving test is cancelled by the DVSA at short notice, you will still be liable to pay 100% of the standard car hire charge.

5. Cancellation and Refund

5.1 MK Driving Lessons cannot be held responsible for any lesson or test cancellations due to mechanical breakdown or unforeseen emergencies such as instructor illness or bereavement. We will make every effort to provide a replacement vehicle or instructor as soon as possible, but this cannot be guaranteed.

5.2 You must provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice to your instructor if you wish to cancel a lesson. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at the full lesson rate, or a prorated amount in the case of block bookings (including any applied discount).

5.3 It is your responsibility to present a valid UK provisional driving licence before your first lesson. Failure to do so may result in lesson cancellations, with less than 48 hours' notice, in which case you may be charged.

5.4 Refunds for cancelled block bookings will be processed within 5 working days from the date of receiving the cancellation notice.

5.5 Refunds for cancelled intensive courses will be processed within 10 working days from the date of receiving the cancellation notice.

6. Offers and Price Changes

6.1 MK Driving Lessons reserves the right to modify driving tuition offers and pricing at any time without prior notice.

6.2 Lesson prices may vary depending on your location and whether you are learning in an automatic or manual vehicle.
